THOMAS GEORGE, CHURCHILL WAY, CARDIFF

Appointed by Principality building society for RIBA stages 1-7.
The scheme involved the total refurbishment of the existing building and a three storey extension to the rear of the property.
The building now has six self contained apartments and branches to the ground floor.

PETER ALAN, MANSELL STREET, SWANSEA.

Appointed by Principality Building Society, our original planning application was rejected by the LPA.
Upon a successful appeal the scheme involved the refurbishment to the existing branch and the conversion of the upper floors to six apartments.

WHITCHURCH, CARDIFF

A residential extension to maintain the character of the original build. Above was the original profile, below the tastefully completed side extension.

PENYLAN, CARDIFF

Residential works with an infill extension to provide a day room for an additional more useable space.

Retail

STOCKLEY PARK – HEATHROW

Stockley Park was an 18-month and £15 million contract.
The works involved redeveloping the existing building with new cladding, curtain walling, and feature extensions.

INTU SHOPPING CENTRE, BROMLEY, KENT

We were appointed to this exciting scheme for RIBA stages 4-7.
The work scope was to take the initial planning drawings and develop them for construction. Every detail required full Employers Design Team Approval.
The overall scheme was for 5 No. food retail units which are now all trading.

SKODA, BIRCHWOOD, EASTBOURNE.

This scheme was a complete new build SKODA showroom at the Birchwood site in Eastbourne.
The showroom is now operational and proving a huge success.

BRENT CROSS SHOPPING CENTRE, LONDON.

Franks And Toms Architects were appointed for RIBA Stages 4-7.
The works included the amalgamation of existing units and the redevelopment of the main shopping mall.

JOHN LEWIS STORE, SIDWELL STREET, EXETER.

The John Lewis Store external envelope was renewed with new insulated render finish and renewed external rainscreen cladding
Franks and Toms provided a Design Management and project co-ordination role on site

SAINSBURY’S STORE IN DARTMOUTH

Franks and Toms Architects Ltd were appointed on the roll out project for numerous external wind lobby’s.
The photo illustrates the new wind lobby at the Sainsbury’s Store in Dartmouth.

LIDL STORES, NORMANTON AND STOKE.

As part of the latest concept proposals by LIDL Stores, Franks and Toms were appointed as Architects for the demolition of the existing stores and
re-construction of the new build concept stores at Normanton and Stoke

Amazon Fulfilment Centre in Warrington

Amazon awarded ISG with the redevelopment of an existing 31000m2 warehouse and 800m2 ancillary offices in Warrington.
The project required transport hubs and stair pods demolition and installation of 56,000m2 of two levels of mezzanine floor,
new external stair pods, extensions to the office and welfare facilities and additional car and HGV parking.
Franks and Toms provided Design Management for the project basing themselves on site for the duration of the project

Healthcare

ALLIANCE HEALTHCARE SWANSEA

Franks and Toms Architects Ltd were appointed for the extension to the existing factory unit in Swansea.
The scheme was a great success and completed on programme and in budget.

Commercial

PRINCIPALITY BUILDING SOCIETY, HEAD OFFICE, CARDIFF

Franks and Toms Architects Ltd were hugely honoured to be the appointed Architects for the redevelopment of the Principality Building Societies Head Office in Cardiff.
This development is within the heart of Cardiff City Centre and includes the new reception area, public coffee shop and additional staff facilities.
The full scheme was completed in November 2016.

PARC TAWE RETAIL PARK REGENERATION, SWANSEA

Franks and Toms Architects Ltd were appointed as Design Managers with Architectural Services for the redevelopment of the Parc Tawe Retail Park in Swansea
This development was extensive and varied and included the recladding of the external envelope of the whole project and the renewal of the external works.
The full scheme was completed in 2018.

PRINCIPALITY BUILDING SOCIETY, QUEEN STREET, CARDIFF

Appointed directly by The Principality Building Society for RIBA stages 1-7.
The scheme involves the renovation and updating of the ground floor external facade.

INTERMUME OFFICE, MARYLEBONE ROAD, LONDON

This development involved the conversion of an existing unit into highly refurbished offices.
The service included the full interior design and furniture specification.

Hospitality

THE LANGHAM HOTEL, REGENT STREET, LONDON

Franks and Toms Architects were appointed as Design Managers for the full design coordination on site with various elements of Architectural input
to ensure this prestigious refurbishment was a success. The development included the refurbishment of 378 rooms to the North and East Wings.

HMP SPRINGHILL – GYMNASIUM EXTENSION

We were appointed for RIBA stages 1-7 for a 3000sq.ft. extension to the existing gymnasium at Springhill Prison.
This was an interesting development, especially during the survey works.

LLANRUMNEY HALL COMMUNITY TRUST

Franks and Toms Architects have provided Architectural Services for various projects for the Trust beginning with the extensive repair and refurbishment of the Hall
including an extension for a Creche and works to provide the new Cafe and various further activities. With it’s history, a very interesting and diverse project.
